What is BXConnect?

BXConnect is an initiative launched in 2009 by the Builders Exchange of Central Ohio, to create a network for construction professionals in transition while keeping them linked to the BX and the local construction community.

Two reasons: member appreciation and talent preservation. 
These individuals have been vital contributors to the construction community … BX member firms need to keep in touch with them and help them find new opportunities as soon as possible!

It’s never easy to lay off talented professionals, yet in this economy it’s an experience nearly all Builders Exchange members are facing.  The Exchange wants to provide its member employers – and their displaced employees – with connections they need moving forward. 

Whether it’s providing information on programs and benefits available during their transition (such as applying for unemployment compensation and health care continuation), or networking with other industry members, BXConnect aims to be a resource for professionals in transition.

The Builders Exchange has created a membership in BXConnect, that employers may purchase for former employees or individuals may purchase themselves… for just $50 through December 31, 2009.  The benefits that come with BXConnect are specifically for unemployed individuals, accessing them to many BX services.

While the duration of the recession is debated, one thing is certain: it will end eventually.  And when construction gets moving again, the industry will need all the talent it’s been forced to forfeit in the interim.

Through its activities, the Builders Exchange has long offered members a variety of networking opportunities.  Ranging from social events, to education programs, to volunteer committees, Exchange activities bring members together and forge professional relationships.

BXConnect members will have complete access to all Exchange activities.  By keeping them involved with the association, BX members benefit from staying in touch with this talent!
